Design 1771 C1 Chris Craft Capri 26

This is the third design developed for Chris Craft. It looks like the three men in the boat above are focused on something in the cockpit and certainly are luffing (or maybe tacking). The boat was introduced in 1965. 90 boats were built during the 3 year production run.
Here's a copy of the brochure. Please double click for zoom.

And here's an article about the boat.

Huntington Class 26 Cold Molded Sloop
In this new iteration, the design team at S&S has maintained the classic club racer styling and hull lines, with light displacement and low wetted surface, making it a speedy one-design class. Two alternatives are offered for the underwater appendages - the original full keel and attached rudder for the traditionalist, or a new fit keel and spade rudder configuration for the more competitive club racer. Construction method and scantlings have been updated for cold-molded construction, allowing the aesthetic appeal of exposed laminated wood beams below decks to add character throughout the cabin. Below deck, this club racer can accommodate two people for an overnight stay.
The sail plan is manageable by a crew of two while racing or cruising. Optional symmetrical and assymmetical spinnaker gear also allows the owner to expand the sail inventory to his own comfort level. Deck hardware is kept to a minimum and optional teak trim on the toe rail and deckhouse make maintenance a breeze.

A new Sadler 26 rudder
I say new and it will be but this original Sadler 26 which was GRP moulded here in Cape Town by Fortuna Marine needs its first rudder made. Even some thirty years on, this boat is still a top design in this size of boat.

We will make the rudder to sizes as supplied by Dave who has circumnavigated in his Sadler 26, with ownership still and after some thirty years, thanks to him we now have the original 1986 rudder and pintal design and can construct to the designers drawing and instruction sheet supplied.
How easy is this, keep watching and you will find out.
Rudders and foils are nothing new to us, check the link and date that we worked on the Irwin 54 replacement rudder.

We now have the rudders dimensions and will bond the 12mm okoume marine blade together this week for shaping next week.
