Design 2210 Smack

I pinched the image above from the Internet and apologize we don't have a proper sailing image of this boat (and to whomever took the shot!). Smack was built by Cantiere Navale Benello of Monfalcone, Italy in fiberglass. She was designed as an ocean racing yacht with all the amenities required of a good cruising boat without any regard to weight savings for the sake of winning races. The year was 1975.

The boat was the prototype of what would become the Illiria 46 production yacht ( example shown above) by the same shipyard. We have no idea just how many boats were built during the production run.

Here are the plans.

Principal Dimensions
LOA 46'-10"
LWL 34'-10"
Beam 15'-4"
Draft 7'-6"
Displacement 25,750 lbs
Ballast 13,000 lbs
Sail Area 993 sq ft
